Terms of Service

These terms cover use of GeoSlice (geoslice.net). By playing GeoSlice, or creating an account, you're agreeing to them. If anything here isn't clear, get in touch.

The game itself

GeoSlice is free to play, in full, with no account required. That's expected to remain true for the core game going forward. Premium is an optional paid tier that adds extras on top, it doesn't take away anything that's free today.

Acceptable use

Play fair. Don't attempt to disrupt the site, scrape it at a scale that affects other players, use bots or automated tools to submit scores or manipulate the leaderboard, or use it in any way that breaks applicable law. Accounts found doing this may be suspended, or have their scores removed.

Accounts

You're responsible for keeping your own login details secure, and for anything that happens under your account as a result of not doing so. Usernames are shown publicly on the leaderboard, don't use one that's offensive, impersonates someone else, or violates anyone else's rights, we can remove or rename a username that does.

You can delete your account entirely, at any time, from your account page. This is permanent and can't be undone.

Premium: Monthly and Lifetime Access

GeoSlice offers an optional paid tier, Premium, unlocking the full Archive, Unlimited Play, and Country Mode, on top of everything in the free daily game.

• Monthly Access is a recurring subscription, billed every month, and can be cancelled at any time from your account page. Cancelling stops future billing, you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
• Lifetime Access is a one-time payment for permanent Premium access. It's offered only during GeoSlice's launch period, once that window closes, Lifetime won't be offered again, existing Lifetime purchases aren't affected by that.

"Lifetime" refers to the lifetime of GeoSlice as a running product, not any individual or company. If GeoSlice is discontinued and stops operating entirely, Lifetime and Monthly access end along with it, and no refund is owed for remaining time, value, or expected future access, since the product providing that access no longer exists to provide it.

Refunds

Payments are generally final. Refunds aren't given for a change of mind, for not using a plan you've purchased, or once meaningful access to Premium has already been provided. A refund may be given at our discretion where GeoSlice genuinely failed to deliver what was paid for, for example a payment that succeeded but never actually unlocked Premium access, and the issue can't otherwise be resolved. Refund requests, including these, go to hello@geoslice.net and are handled case by case.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. GeoSlice does not and will not handle or store your card details directly.

The site is provided "as is"

GeoSlice is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It's an actively developed project, so features, scoring, and available regions may change as it's improved. We don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, GeoSlice is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, including downtime, bugs, or data loss. Nothing here excludes liability that can't legally be excluded.

Content and data

Map and population data displayed in GeoSlice comes from third-party sources described on the data sources page. Country borders shown reflect a standard, publicly available boundaries dataset and aren't intended as a political statement of any kind.

Intellectual property

The GeoSlice name, design, and game mechanics belong to GeoSlice. Underlying geographic data is sourced from public/licensed datasets and remains subject to its own respective terms.

Changes to the game or these terms

Features may be added, changed, or removed over time, this is a small, actively developed project. If these terms change in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
